Module C: The Socio-Economic Context (compulsory module, 10 ECTS)

Content: The module explores the past twenty years of transition of South-Eastern European economies. It looks into the questions of how competitive South-Eastern Europe is and how sustainable growth for the region can be ensured. Challenges and prospects in the context of European integration are discussed as well as the region’s role in the global economy.

Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this module, students will be able to:

  • apply macroeconomic analysis to the study of contemporary and historical economic problems with an emphasis on South-Eastern European economies
  • understand the challenges of economies in transition
